British Takeaway Campaign
Mark Drummond is a member of the British Takeaway Campaign – an industry body representing all those that supply and prepare the nation’s favourite foods – which speaks on behalf of the many different cuisines that make up the UK takeaway sector. The BTC communicates best practice in the sector across different issues, including on nutrition and healthy eating, and raises awareness of the challenges that many of the small businesses across the industry face.
Mark is part of the British Takeaway Campaign through his membership of the National Federation of Fish Friers. He has owned fish & chip shops in the West Yorkshire area since 1991. Mark was head of the National Federation of Fish Friers Training School from 2007 to 2015 and their Vice president from 2012-2015.
His current business, Towngate Fisheries, was the winner of the Healthy Eating Fish & Chips category of the Seafish National Fish & Chip Awards in both 2015 and 2017. In 2017 Mark won the Contribution to Industry Award in the British Takeaway Awards and in 2018 the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Seafish National Fish & Chip Awards.
